Who I am

This site belongs to Polle de Maagt, strategist, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 53518748. Questions about your data: polle@polledemaagt.com.

What I collect, and why

When you get in touch. The contact form asks for your name, organisation, email address and what you want to talk about. I use it to answer you, and for nothing else. The same goes for email. The basis for this is your own request to get in touch.

When you say yes to cookies. Google Analytics counts which pages are read, from which kind of device, roughly from which country or city, and how people found the site. I use it to see what is useful. The basis for this is your consent. Say no, and nothing is counted.

Movements. Movements runs in its own app at movements.polledemaagt.com. When you request access there, the form asks for your name, email address, your organisation if you like, and a few words about yourself. I read every request myself and use it to decide on access and to send you Movements, and for nothing else. To sign in, the app emails you a one-time login link. The basis for this is your own request.

When I ask for your feedback. After or during a project I sometimes ask the people I worked with how it went. The feedback form (also Tally) asks for your name and your answers. I use them to get better at my work, and I never quote you without asking first. The basis for this is your consent.

Who else sees it

Only the services that make this work: Tally, which runs the contact and feedback forms; Lovable, which hosts the Movements app and sends its login emails through Mailgun in the EU; Supabase, which stores Movements access requests and logins in the United States (under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses); Google, for Analytics (which may process data in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework); and my hosting provider. Nobody else. I never sell data, and I do not use it for advertising.

How long I keep it

Messages: as long as we are in touch, and at most two years after the last contact, unless we end up working together. Then invoices and agreements are kept for the seven years Dutch tax law requires. Movements: as long as you have access. Requests I say no to: one year, so I recognise them if they come back. Ask, and I delete yours. Feedback: as long as it helps me improve. Ask, and I delete yours. Analytics data: 14 months.

About the images

Made with Midjourney. The objects next to articles, like the ice creams, the cookie, the suitcase, the robot and the bathtub, and the small icons on this site are made with Midjourney, an AI image tool. So are a few scene photos, and those say so in their caption. The ice cream photo on my rebuilt Sofia slide is one of them.

Real. Photos of me, of workshops, of the places I write about and of things I saw, like the floor in Taipei, are real. Faces of people who did not say yes are made unrecognisable.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete what I have about you, to get a copy of it, or object to how I use it. I reply within a month. You can change your cookie choice any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. And if you think I handle your data badly, you can complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Dutch data protection authority.
